Have you heard about our Robbers’ Relief Essential Oil Blend and are curious about what it is, and what it does?
Robbers’ Relief (not just one essential oil, but instead an essential oil blend), is a combination of five different 100% pure essential oils: Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon, Rosemary and Eucalyptus. The combination of these five oils is believed to be highly antiviral and antibacterial, which makes it a must-have for many health-conscious individuals.
The history of this essential oil blend is quite interesting, as it is based off the tale from yore of French thieves who would cover themselves with cloves, rosemary and other aromatics for protection, while robbing people during the plague.
Here are some Tips & Uses for our Robbers’ Relief Essential Oil Blend:
Sore Throat: Gargle 1-3 drops with water. Then dilute with a carrier oil* and apply it to the outer neck.
Cleaning: Add 5-10 drops to a spray bottle with water and use it to clean any surface in the house. Works great on children’s toys, counter tops, floors, pet cages and more.
Cold or Flu: Rub a couple drops directly on the soles of your feet to protect you from colds and flu. Use a carrier oil when applying on children, or if you have sensitive skin.
Dishwasher: Add a few drops with your detergent and run a normal cycle for cleaner dishes.
Diffuse: Add 1-3 drops to your diffuser and run for 15-20 minutes to eliminate airborne bacteria. Ideal to help boost the immune system.
Foot Fungus: Apply 1 drop directly to the infected area.
Hand Sanitizer: Mix 5 drops with 2 Tbsp aloe vera gel, 1 Tbsp filtered water and 1/8 tsp vitamin E oil. Store in a 2 oz. squeeze bottle and keep handy in your purse.
*Some good carrier oils are: olive, coconut, fractionated coconut & grapeseed oils.
Our Robbers’ Relief is available through our website butterflybeautyshop.com, as well as on Amazon.
Question is thieves and five thieves the same? Is Five Thieves safe to gargle for sore throat?

Hi Angie,
Thieves and Five Thieves are the same. In an attempt not to violate Young Living’s “Thieves” trademark we renamed the oil “Five Thieves.” But it looks like we will need to rename it again. Rest assured, the quality is (and will remain) the same.
In regards to gargling, yes it is safe to gargle 1-3 drops with water.

Can Five Thieves be rubbed on gums or diluted with water for a mouthwash?
LikeLike
Hi Jamie,
Yes, it can be used for both purposes.
Since the Five Thieves oil contains clove oil, it will numb the area of your gums that you apply it too. You’ll only want to apply a drop. (For me, I put it on a q-tip and rub in on my gums — this was after some dental work when my tooth/gum was still very sore.) If the Five Thieves oil gets in contact with your skin, it will start to burn (as it is a hot oil). For this, rub a carrier oil or lotion on your skin and the sensation will go away.
For a mouthwash you can add a few drops to 15mL of water and rinse your mouth out.

When making a cleaner with five thieves to how many ounces of water do you add 5-10 drops?

Hi Kate,
You can add 1 drop to each ounce of water. If it is too weak (or too strong) for your liking you can add more (or less) drops.
But this is a good dilution for an cleaner.
